Quilt Project
How can you help
The Piece and Quiet group has enthusiastically agreed to sponsor the creation of individual quilts as a welcome gift for the people who will be moving into the affordable housing apartments our church is helping to build. Our goal is to make at least 60 quilts by the time the apartments are ready for move-in.
If you are a quilter, prefer to knit or crochet, you are invited to create a throw-size (approximately 65” x 65”) quilt. Quilts have several production steps from piecing the top, to putting the top together with batting and backing, quilting the sandwiched materials, and binding the quilt. If you would like to make a quilt to donate, please contact Karen Nelson: pastorkaren@gknelson.net. When you talk to Karen, you can get size details and sign up for whatever parts of the process you are able/willing to do. Quilting project can be completed any time throughout this year. You can also invite other quilters you know to help with the project.
Monetary donations are also needed to help pay for batting for the quilts and for professional quilting services for some of them. Our goal is to raise $1200 to help pay for these items.
