This will be a different sort of short term mission trip, Sort of like Short Term Missions 101! Think of it as a trip for the whole church family. We will be in the central valley of Oaxaca, where it is much cooler than where we have gone before. Our primary job will be to prepare Rancho Tunillo for Adventures in Life summer camps. Essentially an intro to missions and how AIL works in Oaxaca. The ranch is our base and from there all our ministries, from church building to medical clinics to water filter outreaches, flow into the indigenous communities of the state.
There will be work that everyone can do. From general clean-up, light construction, painting, yard work, preparing craft projects for the coming camps, work with our kids, and work with animals. There will also be opportunities to learn more about Oaxacan history and culture.
The dates for the trip are July 3rd through July 9th. Cost is $950 per person for those 16 and up, $250 for ages 6-16, and no charge for anyone under 6.
In addition there will be airfare and incidentals. We don’t want anyone to be unable to go due to cost, so if cost is an issue please contact Pastor Paul. We can handle a maximum of 30 people so act fast to reserve your space. To reserve a spot or for questions email Gordon Mallon.
Here is a flyer with all the info on it and the registration form.
Registration is due March 6th with $100 deposit to hold your spot. We only have 30 spots available so get in your registration early! Scholarships are available, as well! We don't want anyone to miss out due to financial burdens! Please let either the office or Pastor Paul know the needs.
This is a great opportunity to be fig leaves in our world!
